The North Island is an travel art film and a historical document, depicting the scenes and the feelings of the northern part of Vancouver Island in the Spring of 2019. I wanted to capture the raw beauty, the mightiness, the graceful loneliness, and turn it into a thoughtful piece that will stand as a timestamp on what this part of the world once looked and felt like. Every log washed on the beach, every lingering cloud, every rusted piece of equipment parked on the muddy road tells a part of the story, and that’s the story I wanted to tell.
